Property in Florida is still a "good long-term investment", according to industry experts.
Paul McMullen, sales manager of investment website Escapes2, recently explained that Britons renting out their Florida properties for just ten to 15 weeks of the year can cover all that property''s costs.
Mr McMullen emphasised that despite the slowdown in the US market, there are economic and cultural benefits associated with Florida property.
He continued: "The strength of the pound against the dollar is making [investment] strong at the moment.
"People have been going to Orlando for years and they will continue to do so. You can fly to Florida from all over the UK easily enough - so getting there isn''t really a problem.
Mr McMullen also explained that the country and climate is stable - and for children, it''s a "very special place" and a "dream" holiday destination.
Many UK investors are attracted by the cost of living - which is far lower than in the UK - and the fact that the buy-to-let market in Florida is generally very buoyant.
