Miami not only offers outstanding beaches, fantastic food and an amazing nightlife but it is also renowned for its stunning golf courses.
Miami’s golf courses offer players a challenging yet relaxing golfing experience set against spectacular backdrops of beautiful forests, flowing rivers and turquoise waters. The Doral Golf Resort and Spa is amongst many of the top resorts in Miami.
Also known as ‘the kingdom of golf’ it is home to five championship courses, including the Great White Course and Blue Monster designed by Greg Norman. Doral has been the host of the PGA tour since 1962 and the World Golf Championships and the CA Championships have been held at Doral which is ranked one of America’s best resorts by Golf Magazine.
Another highly recommended resort is the Don Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club and for those not quite up to professional golfing standards, lessons and clinics are on hand by PGA tour professionals.
Orlando’s golfing experience isn’t too dissimilar from that of Miami’s, with a mammoth 150 courses within one hours’ drive of the city and over 50 top courses amongst those, you’re spoilt for choice.
One of the latest and most sought after golfing experiences is at the Ginn Reunion Resort & Club with three 18 hole courses designed by Arnold Palmer (The Legacy), Tom Watson (The Independence) and Jack Nicklaus (The Tradition), a formidable trio. Another one of the newest and most exciting golf courses is a further Jack Nicklaus signature course located at Keene’s Pointe in Windermere and for something close to the action of Disney, try Kissimmee Oaks where 100 year old oak trees line and drape over the elegant fairways.
