Florida Attractions

Florida, also known as America’s ‘Sunshine State’, is one the world’s favorite holiday destinations due to its unlimited entertainment, subtropical climate, sweeping beaches and  vibrant cities.  In the heart of Florida lies Orlando, an ideal location for family and friends to enjoy a range of sporting and leisure activities, the world-famous attractions, stunning golf courses and superb beaches.  The Tourist Quarter located to the southwest of Orlando is home to a multitude of theme parks and museums including the king of resorts Walt Disney World with its Magic Kingdom and Epcot Centre, as well as Universal Studios, Sea World, Discovery Cove, Island of Adventure, Orlando Science Centre, Kennedy Space Centre, Mennello Museum of American Folk Art and Orlando Museum of Art.  Away from the energy and glare of the resorts lie beautiful forests, mangrove swamps and rivers where you can enjoy more ‘natural’ activities such as hiking, canoeing, cycling and swimming.

Miami at the southern tip of Florida is a unique city destination packed full of history, fun sporting activities, fashion, cuisine, culture, nightlife and shopping.  Along with Orlando it has an extensive range of museums for the art lovers and plenty to occupy the kids including the Miami Metro Zoo, Miami Museum of Science, Miami Sea Aquarium, Museum of Contemporary Art, Rubell Family Art Collection and the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Many of the city’s famous pastel-coloured Art Deco buildings line the coast of Miami, bursting with history, inspiring arts and informative galleries. By night, you can enjoy traditional Cuban and Latin American cuisine served in the expected American sized portions and for a city with some of the most stylish and trendiest clubs in the country there is always somewhere to dance off those extra calories.

A city known for it extensive amount of partying, Miami has a number of enticing events and festivals throughout the year. The largest event held in Miami is the Carnival which is a nine day festival at the beginning of March including a Miss Carnival contest, Carnival Night concerts, an inline skating contest, jazz concerts, a Latin drag show and Calle Ocho cooking contest. Other events include the annual Winter Music Conference in March, International Hispanic Theatre Festival from late May to June, The Annual Miami Reggae Festival in early August and a smattering of Boat Shows.
